DEFINED SITE CLEAN-UP

Asbestos Debris and Contaminated Soil Removal

Broken asbestos-cement fragments can remain in gardens, beneath old buildings, beside fences or around earlier demolition work. The appropriate response depends on the material, how widely it is distributed and whether soil disturbance has spread contamination. PropertyHelp Ltd can undertake controlled collection of visible bonded debris and defined removal of affected surface soil where the scope is suitable for our licence and method.

WHAT WE CAN ASSESS

Removal planned around the property.

Every asbestos project needs a scope based on the identified material, its condition and the work that will disturb it. PropertyHelp reviews the available survey information and confirms whether the proposed work is suitable for a Class B removal method.

OUR APPROACH

A controlled process from planning to disposal.

01

Define the affected area

We inspect the visible distribution, site history, access, vegetation and whether further assessment or sampling is needed.

02

Plan disturbance controls

The method addresses isolation, dampening where appropriate, tools, PPE/RPE, decontamination and soil or waste transport.

03

Collect or excavate

Visible bonded fragments and the agreed soil depth or area are removed using controlled methods that minimise further spread.

04

Inspect and dispose

The defined area is checked under the agreed completion criteria and waste is packaged and taken for lawful disposal.

SITE-SPECIFIC DETAILS

What can affect the job.

Access, material condition, height, neighbouring properties and other trades can change the controls and programme. We identify these issues before work starts and explain what is included in the quotation.

  • Visible debris may indicate a wider problem below the surface
  • Extensive or friable contamination may require specialist assessment and a different removal scope
  • Clean fill, reinstatement and landscaping should be clearly allocated
  • Independent validation or clearance may be required

COMMON QUESTIONS

Helpful answers before you begin.

Can I pick up asbestos fragments myself?

Avoid disturbing or breaking suspected material. Keep people away and obtain advice so the material and extent can be assessed safely.

How deep will you remove the soil?

Depth cannot be assumed. It is defined from the evidence, assessment and agreed scope for the particular site.

Will you replace the removed soil?

Replacement clean fill or landscaping can be identified as a separate scope. The quote will state what is and is not included.

Important: Do not drill, sand, cut, scrape or break suspected asbestos. If material is damaged, keep people away and seek competent advice.

GET A CLEAR SCOPE
